British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Deadly Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday evening. The athlete was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, representatives confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.

Honoring the Deceased

The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”

This update on his health arrives after the boxing community shared its support for the star in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
