FC Barcelona Set to Play First Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend
The club confirmed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league over two years following their departure for construction to commence.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside based on approved permits. After final construction, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.
Stadium Testing
Barça organized a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou earlier this month. The club said they were hoping for permission from Uefa to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt next month in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
