Football Analyst Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions
Arsenal's ten-match winning run was ended by the Black Cats before the global hiatus, however can the Premier League leaders bounce back against local foes Tottenham this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."
The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against AI, fans and a variety of guests.
For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.
Murs' latest album, the new release, is available on Friday.
Soccer and Family Experiences
Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of multiple charity football matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a footballer.
"{I actually played in a benefit match the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "The side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!
"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or boy chooses to play instead."
The singer and his wife his partner have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.
"I will not push football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their Saturday soccer team," he said.
"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a while too.
"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our side for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
In my opinion this fixture will be fairly tight, however. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.
This suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.
Sutton's forecast: 1-2
The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their past two matches - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.
In contrast, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear strong again.
The Hammers' only away victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's manager.
So, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham continuing their run under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?
I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Villa was a anomaly.
The pundit's forecast: 2-0
Olly's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2
The algorithm's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four matches.
A family member told me to select Bees striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
The forward will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.
The Bees have not had much success on the travel this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a danger.
The analyst's forecast: 2-1
The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a many scores but it actually turns out to be rather tight. 1-1
AI's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.
They have have lots of quality in their squad but it still seems like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.
As for Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.
Their display in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not seen any other team rough up the Gunners like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.
The logical choice to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the end of October.
But I am not do that. Rather, I truly need to continue opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.
Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only team they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be extremely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.
The expert's forecast: 1-0
The guest's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a poor run... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at home this campaign. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough fixture to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but could they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
