NFL 2025 season: Week six

Real-time updates includes live text for Sunday's games on various channels, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, radio commentary is available on select stations covering another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).

We're in the sixth week in the NFL season and after last week's discussion regarding two top teams being a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both surrendered their perfect starts.

Striking in those games were the amount of infractions both committed. Philadelphia committed them at crucial times meaning they kind of defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns entering the fourth period versus Denver, set to play overseas this weekend.

However it proved good to observe how Denver's QB Bo Nix managed to overcome the shortfall before direct three scoring drives on three possessions in the fourth quarter, securing the victory by four points.

The Broncos have the defensive player of the year with cornerback their star corner. They rank number one in red zone defence, while the Eagles are number one in red zone offence, and the Broncos won that contest.

They executed effective strategies in terms of simulated pressure. They did not necessarily rushing more than four pass rushers but they might plug two LBs in the interior then withdrawing them and send a nickel from the outside.

Early on of the season, we said on a program that the Broncos might emerge as this season's dark horses. They finished the previous year well and excelled of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's underdog story?

Recently acquired tight end their tight end has excelled big and recent RB their rusher is a player the team trusts. He's currently fifth league-wide for rushing yards (402) and tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).

I love that head coach the Broncos' leader has "RUN IT!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates that the Broncos are a squad that wants to run first, because one can achieve much off the back of that. It reduces opposing rushes while keeps you in favourable down and distances.

This has benefited quarterback Bo Nix, who entered into the league as a first-round selection in the prior draft, passing for 29 TDs – second only to Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess the arm strength to pass anywhere, however they don't move the mobility that Nix has. He has incredible arm talent, a unique trait, and he's so athletic.

His assets are his movement, being able to pass while moving, as well as using different arm angles to make the pass as he moves out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He can throw that layered pass over the middle and over the corner.

For a young quarterback, at 25, he displays great composure under pressure and is not really fazed by the blitz. He aims to evade a sack as much as possible and is able throw under pressure. He possesses a high football IQ and is quick to decide.

If you consistently rush it consumes the clock and forces the defence to stay in play for longer, and if you have a mobile QB the defense must cover the area vertically and horizontally. This proves draining.

Nix has pushed back with the coach during games at times and it seems the coach likes that fire, seeing him as a fierce rival. I think it's fun for the coach to coach a rookie QB that is similar to moldable clay. He can truly develop him how he wants to build it. I believe it's a unique opportunity for him.

Payton owns a championship and has passed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed it all. In my opinion the success Denver are having on offence is mostly down to his guidance, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the combination with Nix helps make him what he is.

You wouldn't want a better guy guiding you, to help you through some of the tougher situations and boost confidence.

I believe in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. But are they good enough to go against an elite team at full strength? Because that was not a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia last Sunday.

Right now, I don't think the Broncos are elite. They're working above average, which is a good place to be in the AFC West. All they need is is maintain this path.

They're really good at embracing their strength, that is the ground game, and that's exactly what they must do against the Jets in London. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

The Jets have allowed 140 rushing yards each contest (sixth worst), five ground scores this season (10th worst), and they are the only team without a win a game.

Since the league began tracking turnovers decades ago, the Jets are also the first team to be without a single takeaway through five games, which is surprising when you think that their new coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes says the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' following Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.

Following the upcoming matchup, Denver face a manageable slate until their break (in week twelve) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans plus the Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, Kansas City are 2-3 while Denver are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 so they could make a run for the top of the West.

This hinges upon which form of the Chiefs they meet because the Broncos {beat|def
