Palestinian-American Adolescent Released After Nine-Month Period in Israel's Custody

An American-Palestinian youth after completing a nine-month period in imprisonment by Israel absent formal charges gained freedom.

Mohammed Ibrahim was 15 at the time of his arrest in February throughout the West Bank territory, while he was vacationing while residing in Florida under suspicion of rock throwing at Jewish settlers, which he previously denied.

United States authorities applauded the news of Mohammed's release.

Mohammed, now 16, required hospitalization upon gaining freedom, according to close relatives.

According to them, he appears pale, underweight, and is suffering from conditions developed during imprisonment.

Via family representatives, family spokesperson spoke of the family's "overwhelming sense of relief".

Family member Zeyad Kadur described how relatives endured "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" over the last nine months.

"Currently, we are focused on getting Mohammed the immediate medical attention he requires after being subjected to Israel's abuse and cruel circumstances for months."

US officials said it would continue to extend consular services to Mohammed's family.

{"The Trump Administration considers paramount to the protection and welfare of American nationals"," the department emphasized.

Twenty-seven US lawmakers endorsed a document to US authorities and the administration, demanding more be done for his freedom.

The father, with four children managing a frozen treats business based in Tampa, previously said his child admitted guilt to throwing stones after being assaulted by soldiers.

The father hadn't visited nor direct contact following the detention, learning information solely regarding the treatment via legal paperwork.

He stayed lacking indictment within Ofer penitentiary throughout the occupied territory.
