The Initial Xbox Game Pass Additions of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.

In numerous discussions, commentators persist in tolling the death bells for the green team. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Xbox fan sites are now publishing content about PlayStation for the first time. 2025 was a period of total upheaval for the Xbox ecosystem. However, judging purely by the titles headed to the service in 2026, it's evident that Microsoft continues to plan to engage players with quality releases on its flagship service.

The Current Inclusions

The duo of games you can play right now at this moment, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's worth getting excited about.

Major Titles on the Horizon

Come mid-January, the subscription service will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, a sprawling adventure that refreshes typical Ubisoft design with a space-faring criminal escapade. Another big get is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, previously described as "a superb mixture of horror and action."

Compelling Indie Titles

However, the more modest titles coming to Game Pass soon deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that's a blast to play, arrives January 7th — and you should try it even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.

The game set in a ruined Britain from last year could captivate you remarkably quickly.

Atomfall, the stealth survival game by the makers of Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.

A Robust Selection of Games

All in all, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, and they are also not first-party juggernauts that justify the service by themselves. But Microsoft's additions here are exceptionally strong. It offers a healthy blend of old games you might have missed and fairly new titles that failed to receive the spotlight they were due initially — transforming them into perfect candidates to experience a revival on Game Pass.

Be prepared to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
