The President Invites Families of Injured National Guard Soldiers to the White House

Former President Trump stated on Sunday that he has asked the relatives of a National Guard member killed last week to attend the White House.

He noted that he contacted her family and they were “heartbroken”.

Details on the Tragic Event

Specialist Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a attack on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her fellow service member, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in grave state.

Gatherings across the state have been held in their memory.

Presidential Invitation

The president explained he’s talked about a White House visit for the parents of both soldiers of the West Virginia Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a hard experience, visit the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” the president informed the press. “And in the same way with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Community Reaction

Attendees gathered over the weekend at the high school in West Virginia to remember Beckstrom.

Both they had been working with the state guard as part of the president’s government program to assist policing efforts in Washington DC.

Paying Tribute to the Soldier

“She was the individual that educators desired. She behaved with calm resilience, a contagious smile and a positive energy that encouraged people around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the leader of Beckstrom’s previous school, told the media. “She was kind, considerate and always eager to help others.”

Memorial details for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

Legal Measures and Government Changes

Law enforcement have accused a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of violent assault while armed.

The incident led the administration to pause asylum applications and temporarily stop granting entry permits to owners of passports from Afghanistan.

Condition of Wolfe

Wolfe, a native of the city, enlisted in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, as reported by the news agency.

He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia governor Patrick Morrisey mentioned on television.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi told Fox News Sunday that she also intended to meet with Wolfe’s family.

Impact of the Fallen Soldier

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from her high school in June 2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a military police officer with distinction, per the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of compassion and she certainly had fortitude,” the governor addressed the audience at the service. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to last forever.”
